Meet Monica Cistrone, MS, NP-C of IWC Primary Care, An Innovative Wellness Clinic. NP Monica is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for bringing both functional medicine and integrative medicine to the forefront of healthcare through her work in both fields. As a primary care provider, she prides herself on being able to connect with patients. This allows her to understand their genetics, their history of illnesses, their lifestyle, and their goals as individuals. It is her hope that patients will leave their appointments feeling that they have been listened to and that they are excited about improving their health. NP Monica works with a wide range of patients within IWC Primary Care, An Innovative Wellness Clinic. This range includes pediatrics to geriatrics, in order to provide the most efficient health care.

Earlier in her career, NP Monica worked in a variety of specialties as a registered nurse for six years before becoming a nurse practitioner. In addition to playing tennis and pickleball in her spare time, she enjoys running, rock climbing, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

As a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Monica Cistrone holds a Master's degree in Science from Drexel University. Monica is originally from Rochester, New York and arrived in San Diego, California in 2018 as a travel nurse.
Monica earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. As a travel nurse, Monica draws heavily on her experience as a registered nurse. She attributes her understanding of different patient populations and the reasons for care gaps to her time moving from city to city. By studying to become a Nurse Practitioner, she desires to make a substantial impact by partnering, educating patients, preventing chronic diseases, and ultimately preventing hospitalizations.
