Service Description

How do laboratory studies work? Our understanding of what is happening inside our bodies closely depends on the results of blood tests. This information is often useful for diagnosing various diseases, uncovering root causes of diseases, or presenting a potential prevention strategy. We at IWC Primary Care provide this service uniquely by providing an in-depth interpretation of the lab results. Additionally, this appointment generally takes longer as our knowledgeable practitioners provide a line by line analysis of the results along with recommendations for modifications to be made in order to improve health. What should I do to prepare for this examination? Prior to this appointment, our practitioners will provide a lab order with instructions. Generally, laboratory results are faxed to our office within a week of taking blood or urine samples. The patient must arrive prepared to learn what the results reveal. Please bring any prior studies performed by other providers to this appointment for comparison. What are some of the most common laboratory tests ordered? -cholesterol screening and risk of heart disease -diabetes screening -thyroid screening -test for anemia and other blood disorders -urinary tract infection testing -kidney and liver function testing -autoimmune disorders testing -food and respiratory allergy testing -vitamin and electrolyte levels -pregnancy test -sexually transmitted infection testing -genetic testing -colon cancer screening -prostate cancer screening *hormone testing How are diagnostic tests performed?
