There are moments in healthcare when something simply feels right, not because of a resume or a title, but because of a presence that quietly changes the way a room feels, the kind patients recognize before a single word is spoken.

Today, we are honored to welcome Skylar Veltri, MSN, FNP-C to IWC Primary Care.

NP Skylar Veltri, IWC Primary Care

We Saw It Before It Had a Name

Some clinicians grow into a role, others reveal who they are long before the role is given.

NP Skylar first came to IWC Primary Care as a student during her clinical rotation, there was no announcement, just another learner stepping into a busy clinic, and yet within days something became clear.

In the exam room, she leaned in, when patients spoke she did not interrupt or rush to the next question, she maintained eye contact, she stayed with them, letting moments breathe.

Patients noticed, they would begin with a routine concern, then pause, and continue sharing more than they originally intended, not because they were prompted, but because they felt safe enough to be heard.

Outside the exam room, that same presence carried through the clinic, a greeting from her was intentional and warm, she had a way of lifting the energy of a space without trying.

She took time with our medical assistants, not out of obligation but out of respect, she asked how they were doing and meant it, many saw themselves in her, someone who understood the work and remembered what it felt like to be in their position.

She checked in, offered help before it was needed, paid attention to details most people move past, and over time something subtle but powerful happened, she did not just join the environment, she elevated it.

It did not take long for Dr. Suzanne Afflalo, NP Danielle Gordon, and NP Monica Cistrone to recognize what they were seeing, this was not temporary, NP Skylar had IWC written all over her.

Built in the Moments That Matter Most

Behind that presence is a clinician shaped by experience where precision and composure are not optional.

NP Skylar began her academic journey at the University of Florida (2015 to 2018) and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati (2023 to 2025).

Her background in critical care and travel nursing placed her in high acuity environments, where decisions carry weight and time is limited, she developed the ability to remain steady, think clearly, and connect quickly with patients across different communities.

That experience shows up in ways patients can feel, calm when things are uncertain, focused when situations are complex, present when it matters most.

Care That Patients Can Feel

NP Skylar believes healthcare is most effective when patients feel heard, respected, and involved in their care.

Her time in critical care offered a clear perspective, many serious conditions begin quietly, long before they reach advanced stages, that insight shaped her commitment to prevention, early intervention, and thoughtful chronic disease management.

Her approach is proactive, not reactive, patients will notice it in the way conversations unfold, there is space to talk, space to understand, space to make informed decisions.

From that foundation come better outcomes, earlier diagnoses, stronger control of chronic conditions, and greater confidence moving forward.

A Whole Person, Not Just a Visit

At IWC Primary Care, care is defined by relationships built over time.

NP Skylar brings a whole person approach to every interaction, physical health, emotional well being, lifestyle, and long term goals are all part of the conversation, because real health is built together, not in isolation.

A Natural Fit

Outside of the clinic, NP Skylar enjoys running, hiking, and sailing, she values time with her fiancé and her aussiedoodle, Rivian, a reflection of the balance she encourages in her patients.

This is not a beginning, it is a continuation, a continuation of how she showed up as a student, how she connected with patients and staff, how she made an impression long before today.
